01. THE OFFERING
Join Robert and Hollie Holden in Assisi, Italy, for a nurturing and inspiring spiritual retreat on the Divine Enneagram.
Over five days, Robert and Hollie will teach classes on the Enneagram in the Church at the Nun Hotel in Assisi as well as tours of famous landmarks of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi—including San Damiano.
- ORIGINS OF THE ENNEAGRAM: the 2,000-year history of the Enneagram and its ancient teachings on spiritual wisdom.
- THE MODERN ENNEAGRAM: the nine Ennea-Types that sit on the nine Points of the Enneagram symbol.
- PATH OF GROWTH TYPE: how knowing your Enneagram Type can help you to grow and prosper in your relationships, work, and life.
- NINE SOUL MEDITATIONS: doing deep inner work with the Nine Virtues and Holy Ideas to help you be more of your True Self.
Our retreat will include visits to:
- San Damiano Church: where St. Francis received his calling, and St. Clare lived for over forty years.
- Porziuncola Church: the first HQ of the Franciscan order, housed inside the Basilica of St Mary of the Angels.
- St. Francis' Hermitage of Carceri: where St. Francis gave his Sermon to the Birds.
- St. Francis Basilica and the St. Clare Basilica: which houses the original crucifix that St. Francis found at San Damiano.
by Robert and Hollie, to help you prepare for your spiritual retreat.
A 6-Night Retreat in Assisi: A Welcome dinner. A Franciscan Feast. Morning classes in the church.
Afternoon adventures in Assisi.
Nine Soul Meditations: A 3-hour webinar hosted by Robert and Hollie, to support you in integrating the lessons and gifts of your spiritual retreat.

Morning classes will be held at the old church in the grounds of the Nun Hotel in Assisi, which is one of Robert and Hollie's favourite places to teach.
Each class will cover one of the nine Points of the Enneagram and includes a creative mix of study and practice. Here are the class descriptions:
Point One: Way of Perfection
The Virtue at Point One is called Serenity. Serenity is linked to the Greek word euthymia which means a good state of mind. The Holy Idea at Point One is called Holy Perfection. Holy Perfection recognizes the universe is oddly perfect. There is an order that underpins the chaos of everyday life. Each of us is made in heaven, clothed in goodness, and fashioned out of perfect love. In this class, we feature the work of Plato and enneagram teachers Deborah Egerton and Richard Rohr (a Franciscan minister). ‘The great and merciful surprise is that we come to God, not by doing it right, but by doing it wrong,' wrote Rohr, in Falling Upward.
Way of Humility
The Virtue at Point Two is called Humility.
‘Humility is the foundation of all the other virtues,’ said Saint Augustine. In this class, we explore how all nine Types can practice humility. For Type Twos, humility helps them to be a healthy helper who is able to practice self-care, give without sacrifice, and receive love from others.
Point Two has two Holy Ideas: Holy Will and Holy Freedom. Holy Will teaches that the Universe is an expression of a Single Unified Will that can take care of our needs. Holy Freedom describes the feeling of joy that arises when you accept that 'My Will' and ‘Thy Will' are not two opposing forces. In this class, we mention the work of Enneagram teacher Beatrice Chestnut.

Way of Truthfulness
The Virtue at Point Three is called Veracity or Truthfulness.
When you do ‘the work on oneself’, as Gurdjieff described it, you realize that being authentic is much more impressive than putting on a show. Being authentic is a journey of self-discovery. It requires an inward facing gaze. You must pay attention to yourself, survey your inner landscape, and know where your I AM lives in you.
Point Three has three Holy Ideas: Holy Law, Holy Harmony, and Holy Hope. Holy Law recognizes that the Great Work of Creation is happening everywhere, all at once, and according to universal law. Our task is to participate in the Great Work and serve a Higher Purpose.

Way of Equanimity
is Equanimity
- Your Original Face: recognizing your essence.
- Loving the Unlovable: meeting your shadow, entering hidden places in the heart.
- Honouring Your Wounds: turning wounds into beauty marks.
- Black Madonna: calling the Divine Feminine for healing, creativity, expression.
- Wolf of Gubbio Story: meditation on St Francis and the wolf.

Light on the Path
The Virtue at Point Five is called Non-Attachment.
Holy Ideas: Holy Omniscience & Holy Transparency
Class Themes
- Your Original Mind: tuning in to your original mind, a “mirror without a spot”, free of conditioning, learned thoughts, and limiting beliefs.
- Standing Open to God: practicing basic openness in everyday life.
- Light of the World: "Christ" means the ‘universal light’ that lives in you.
- Practice of Kenosis: emptying the mind to let it be filled with inspiration and grace.
- Light Sitting in Light Meditation: meditation inspired by St. Clare—being a living flame of love.
Enneagram Teacher Feature
Way of Courage
The Virtue at Point Six is called Courage.
Holy Ideas: Holy Faith & Holy Strength
This class features Helen Palmer's teaching on intuitive guidance.
Themes
- Basic Trust: trusting the universe is friendly, life loves you, and you have all the help and guidance needed to succeed.
- Lost in a Dark Wood: a reference to Dante's Divine Comedy, the most popular work of classical Italian literature.
- The Golden Thread: recognizing the Golden Thread that helps navigate the labyrinth of the soul and twists of life.
- Your Sixth Sense: trusting intuition; knowing the difference between thinking and knowing.
- Holy Spirit Meditation: being steered by universal inspiration and guidance.

This virtue helps to stop chasing rainbows, pursuing happiness, acquiring things, and searching for a place on the map marked X. Here we focus on the early life of St. Francis, the young playboy, and his conversion from pleasure seeking to living in perfect joy.
We study the Franciscan story of Perfect JOY. On this day, we pay a visit to San Damiano, which is where St. Francis found his purpose.
Working with these Holy ideas enables you to find your sacred center, know your own depths, and live a truly fulfilled life.
- FINDING LOVE EVERYWHERE: making an inner shift from searching for love to being a more loving person.
- ART OF PILGRIMAGE: learning how St. Francis took pilgrimages not to “get there”, but to “be here”.
- OMNICENTRIC UNIVERSE: mystics, poets and scientists reveal to us we live in an omnicentric universe. This is very good news!
- SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE: “Simple joys are Holy,” said St. Francis of Assisi. Learning how simplicity can amplify your experience of love and joy.
- CANTICLE OF THE CREATURES: a meditation on ecstatic appreciation and fulfilment.

Everyone is born in original innocence. One of the greatest challenges in life is staying in touch with this innocence.
Holy Truth is an invitation to know your true nature and be more of your Real Self.
G.I. Gurdjieff, who was an Eight, famously said, "Life is only real then, when “I AM.”"
In metaphysics, the words “I AM” are used to describe your original nature. The I AM is your indomitable spirit. The I AM is the soul of who you are.
In this class, we will explore the teachings of Gurdjieff—the Socrates of Modern times—and his thoughts on Self-mastery. Themes include:
- ✨ YOUR ORIGINAL ENERGY: innocence is your original energy. It is the lifeforce that animates your being.
- ✨ THE INDESTRUCTABLE SOUL: the experience of inner strength that comes from being more soul-centered in your life.
- ✨ THE UNSTRUCK HEART: the Sanskrit name for your heart center, or heart chakra, is Anahata, which means ‘unstruck, unhurt, and unbeaten.’
- ✨ A HIGHER POWER: surrendering to a power greater than your ego.
- ✨ THE ANNUNCIATION MEDITATION: inspired by Mother Mary and her SACRED YES to her higher purpose.

This virtue has two aspects to it that are complimentary and equally important: inner engagement and outer engagement. It is about doing deep inner work AND being out in the world performing acts of love.
“To love is to be present,” said Thích Nhất Hạnh.
Holy Love reminds you that you are made of love and that you are an instrument for love. God is here, because you are here. Peace is here, because you are here. Love is here, because you are here.
In this class, we focus on the work of enneagram teacher Oscar Ichazo.
